Champaign Police Investigating Shooting

On Aug. 24, 2019, at approximately 4:22 a.m., Champaign Police were called to the area of North Walnut Street and East Bradley Avenue for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 39-year-old male victim in the 0-100 Block of East Bradley Avenue suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was transported to an area hospital.

The preliminary investigation suggests the shooting may have occurred in the 1200 block of North Walnut Street.

There is currently no available suspect information and no arrests have been made at this time. If any resident or business in the nearby area has exterior surveillance camera systems, please contact the police department. It is believed video footage may be of investigative assistance.
