Champaign Police Investigate Friday Afternoon Stabbing

Champaign Police are investigating a Friday afternoon stabbing, which occurred at approximately 3:21 p.m., in the 600 block of E Green Street.

The preliminary investigation suggests two individuals were involved in an altercation, resulting in a 42-year-old male being stabbed in the back. The injuries appear to be non-life-threatening. Jerry Webb, 66, has been arrested for the preliminary offense of Aggravated Battery in connection to the stabbing. He has been transported to the Champaign County Correctional Center.
