On June 20, 2019, Champaign’s Neighborhood Services Department collaborated with the Champaign Park District to host the second Neighborhood Summer Block Party at the Town Center Apartments. Approximately 200 residents from the Town Center Apartments, as well as residents from surrounding apartments and subdivisions, attended the event. They were treated to music provided by DJ Silk, a bounce house, face painting, a balloon artist, and great food. Also attending were several Champaign Police officers and cadets who engaged with and had fun with the participants. Other vendors who were on hand to share resource and program information include: Leaders for Life Martial Arts, DREaaM House students and staff, Regional Planning Commission Head Start, and Housing Authority of Champaign County.
