Champaign Police Investigating Bank Robbery

Today, at approximately 9:15 a.m., Champaign Police responded to Regions Bank, located at 111 S. State St., for a reported bank robbery.

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect entered the bank, passed a note to the bank employee and fled with an undetermined amount of currency. The suspect was observed fleeing westbound to the south alley of University Ave. No weapon was displayed or implied in the robbery, and no injuries were reported.

The suspect (picture below) is described as a black male in his mid-20’s. He was seen wearing all black and his face was concealed.

Champaign Police are investigating the incident and no arrest has been made at this time. Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact Champaign Police at 217-351-4545.
