City Staffer Lends Expertise to Poverty Panel

Tracy Parsons, Community Relations Manager and Community Coalition Facilitator, served as a subject matter expert on a panel hosted by the Illinois Commission on the Elimination of Poverty, Heartland Alliance, and the Eastern Illinois Food Bank. At the event, Heartland Alliance presented the 2017 report on Illinois poverty with a focus on the intersection of poverty, violence, and trauma. Audience participants included representatives from various Champaign and Urbana social service organizations, the Illinois Department of Human Rights, and a number of community members.  The event was held at the City View Banquet and Meeting Center with an approximate 50 participants in attendance.
