On March 27, Neighborhood Coordination Staff organized and facilitated the bi-monthly meeting of neighborhood residents and groups from Planning Area One. The meeting was held at Stratton Elementary. Public Works Director Dennis Schmidt attended the meeting to address concerns related to street maintenance, tree trimming and infrastructure improvements.
Additionally, residents and groups from the area have been working collaboratively over the last year to advocate for additional resources and neighborhood improvements. Neighborhood Services Department (NSD) staff worked with the group to reach consensus on key priorities to address during the action planning process. The list of priorities will be incorporated into the neighborhood action plan that will guide engagement efforts over the next two years. The key priorities agreed to be most important include: neighborhood connections, public safety, infrastructure improvements, housing/general maintenance, and public safety.
In partnership with Neighborhood Services, neighborhood residents and community volunteers will implement a neighborhood clean-up along the Bloomington Road and Bradley Avenue community corridors and in designated hot spots throughout the neighborhood. This event will take place on April 15 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
