Regional Neighborhood Network Conference
Neighborhood Services Coordination staff facilitated the final local planning committee meeting for the upcoming Regional Neighbor Network Conference (RNNC). The 2016 RNNC will be hosted here in Champaign-Urbana on September 29-October 1. Registration for the conference is being conducted via the conference web page www.2016rnnc.com and to date 243 people have registered to attend the conference via the online portal. The conference will offer up to 33 workshops in the following broad categories: Public Safety, Neighborhood Revitalization, Collaborative Engagement, Youth Engagement, Food Insecurity, and Affordable Housing. In addition to the workshops, four field tours will be conducted to showcase community initiatives including: local community gardens, park sculptures, neighborhood based drainage improvements, and the Bristol neighborhood. Funding for the 2016 RNNC will be derived from registration fees, contributions from the host cities, local sponsorships, and in-kind donations.
