The Cities of Champaign and Urbana are accepting nominations for the 14th Annual Champaign Urbana International Humanitarian Awards. Award recipients will be honored September 8, 2016, at the Hilton Garden Inn (1501 South Neil Street, Champaign) at 5:45 p.m.
The purpose of the International Humanitarian Awards is:
• To honor individuals whose work has contributed significantly to international understanding, cooperation, friendship and development;
• To recognize the richness of Champaign County’s international contributions, concerns and commitments in the following categories: agriculture, hospitality, humanitarian relief, human rights, research/education and trade and business; and
• To educate the public about the connections which exist between our local community and the global community.
Nominations must be received by 5:00 p.m. on July 5, 2016, and provided in writing, not exceeding three (3) double-spaced typed pages and mailed to:
