Police Investigate Shooting Incident at Mattis North Apartments

Champaign Police responded to the 2000 Block of Cynthia Drive early this morning, March 26, at approximately 2:03 AM, after receiving multiple reports of shots fired and receiving notification that a 24-year-old Champaign man was transported to the hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Upon arrival to the scene, police found multiple shell casings and damage to a housing unit at Mattis North Apartments that suggests an exchange of gunfire occurred. Investigators are interviewing potential witnesses and processing evidence from the crime scene.  No arrests have been made at this time.
