Three Arrested for Intimidation of a Witness in Redding Homicide

On July 29, 2014, the Champaign Police obtained three arrest warrants for individuals suspected of intimidating a witness in the investigation of the Allen Redding homicide. Markeeta McFarland (38), Paul Craig (39), and Devon Craig (37), all of Champaign, are being charged with Aggravated Intimidation of a Witness, a Class 2 felony for which the offender may be sentenced to a term of imprisonment of not less than 3 years nor more
than 14 years. The bond for each of these warrants is set at $750,000.

Devon Craig and Paul Craig are already in custody in the Champaign County Jail for their involvement in this homicide. Markeeta McFarland was arrested by Champaign Police Detectives on July 29, 2014 at approximately 3:58 PM in the 500 block of South Glenn, Urbana.

“The citizens of Champaign have the right to live in a safe neighborhood and should not be subjected to fear and intimidation from anyone when they seek to preserve the safety of their community. Therefore, the Champaign Police is committed to pursuing charges against those individuals who would intimidate any citizen who is reporting information to the police,” says Champaign Police Chief Anthony Cobb.
