POLICE INVESTIGATE ROBBERY
(PROSPECT BANK – 1601 S. PROSPECT AVENUE)
Today at approximately 1:21 PM, Champaign Police Officers received a report of a bank robbery having just occurred at the Prospect Bank located at 1601 S. Prospect Avenue. Witnesses report that a man entered the bank, stated he had a gun and demanded money. No gun was displayed.
The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s, medium build, and approximately 5’8”, with his hair in corn rows. He was last seen wearing a gray colored jacket and black vest, and a multicolored horizontal striped shirt. The suspect left the bank on foot and as of this time has not been located. Police believe this same suspect may have been in Busey Bank just prior to the robbery.
