The City’s Information Technologies Department recently received two more national awards.
Both awards were earned in the 2013 Government Programming Awards competition sponsored by the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA).
The video Champaign: So Much to Do, So Much to Love earned an Honorable Mention (top 5) award in the Event/Program Promotion (station budget under $300,000) category. This video features Mayor Gerard telling viewers why he loves Champaign. The video can be seen on the City’s website and YouTube page.
CGTV Online also earned an Honorable Mention (top 5) award in the Government Access Station Website category. This category had no budget limit, yet CGTV Online scored very well against the government channel websites of agencies much larger (and with larger budgets) than Champaign. The IT Department is proud
of the valuable online video services we provide to the public and the ability to favorably hold our own with the likes of first place winner Pierce County, WA (population 811,000) and 2nd place winner County of San Diego, CA (population 3.1 million).
These awards represent the 9th and 10th national awards the City has received for CGTV programming/services.
