Yesterday at approximately 4:39 PM, Champaign police officers were dispatched to the area of James Street and Bradley Avenue in reference to a shooting that had just occurred.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers encountered a 22 year-old man who reported being shot by an unknown male. According to the victim, he was walking in the area of the 1100 block of N. James at the time of the shooting. He has been transported to Carle Hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
While interviewing witnesses, officer received information of the suspect’s whereabouts. Officers immediately began to search the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.
The suspect is described as a black male in his 20’s, approximately 6 feet tall with a medium build. No further suspect description is available at this time.
