The Stormwater Utility Fee Advisory Committee reconvened for the first of four meetings to assist in finalizing the Credit and Incentive Manual for the Stormwater Utility Fee on June 18, 2012. This manual will outline how property owners can reduce their stormwater utility fee by managing the stormwater on their property. The focus of this meeting was to review the purpose of the Committee, the City’s stormwater utility fee and the Stormwater Utility Fee Rate Ordinance. Next month, the group will review the consultant’s draft of the Stormwater Utility Fee Credit and Incentive Manual.
The thirteen-member Committee is made up of individual property owners, apartment owners, businesses, representatives from Champaign School District, Champaign Park District, Parkland College, the University of Illinois, and Champaign City Council. The Committee will meet again on July 16, August 13, and September 10 from 4 – 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at the City Building. These meetings are open to the public.
