The Champaign Police Department has identified a suspect in the shooting that occurred in the 1400 block of Williamsburg on June 30, 2010. A warrant for the arrest of Allen M. Williams was issued yesterday, with a bond of $1,000,000.

The offense occurred on June 30, 2010 at approximately 11:07 p.m. in the Garden Hills Subdivision. Witnesses reported hearing four or five shots in the area and notified police. They further advised seeing a large crowd of people in the area and witnessing two groups shooting at each other. When officers arrived, the crowd had begun to disperse and no victims were found at the scene. Officers were later informed that two gunshot victims had arrived at Provena Covenant Medical Center for treatment. Current condition status is not available at this time.
After an extensive investigation by Champaign police, detectives identified Allen M. Williams as one of the shooters and requested a warrant for his arrest. A second suspect, 19 y/o, Christopher Hugger of Urbana, has been arrested for his alleged involvement in this case and is currently being held at the Champaign County Jail.
