About Vanna Pianfetti
I am the District Engagement Coordinator for the IlliniCloud, an education cloud computing nonprofit cooperative. Previously, I was the Professional Development Coordinator for the Illinois Shared Learning Environment for the Illinois State Board of Education. I previously worked for the University of Illinois for more than 20 years, where I served as the Assistant Dean of Learning Technologies, the Director of the Office of Educational Technology (OET), and the Director of Operations and Emergent Technologies for the Center for Education in Small Urban Communities. I also was adjunct faculty with the Departments of Educational Psychology and Special Education, developing and teaching numerous online and face-to-face courses. My research interests include how technologies and digital media are changing the way we learn, how we learn, and where we learn. I am a Smithsonian Laureate for classroom innovation in technology.
I’ve lived in Champaign for over 25 years, married to my husband Brian for 19 years. We are lovingly and adventurously raising our four children.
I was elected to the City Council in 2017.
