Code Review and Appeals Board

  • About the Board

    The Code Review and Appeals Board reviews and advises the City Council on all building construction codes as they apply to new construction.  The Board also hears appeals from those affected by a code violation or other decision involving building codes as they apply to new construction.

    TheBoard consists of nine appointed members who represent various facets of building construction.  City Ordinance mandates that members must be of the following professions: Architect, Structural Engineer, Residential Homebuilder/Realtor, Commercial Builder/Developer, Electrician, Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Technician, Licensed Plumber, Electrical Engineer.

    Board members are appointed by the Mayor with the City Council’s approval.  Each member is appointed to a three-year term.

    The Code Review and Appeals Board meeting documents include:

    These documents are divided into two collections:

    • The current collection includes meeting documents from 2026 to the present. Files available to view and download. Sharing functions not currently supported.
    • The archive collection contains documents from 2002 through 2025.

    Please note: the archive collection includes documents created between 2002 and 2025. In 2026, changes to the Americans with Disabilities Act went into effect, implementing more stringent accessibility standards for newly created web content. Archived content created prior to 2026 are exempted from meeting these new standards and may not be fully accessible.
