On October 6, 2020, at approximately 11:12 a.m., the Champaign County Street Crimes Task Force and United States Marshal’s Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested D’Andre Miller, 33, of Champaign, for his alleged involvement in a Feb. 3, 2020, homicide. Miller was arrested in the 1100 block of North James Street, Champaign.
On February 3, 2020, at approximately 2:49 a.m., Champaign Police responded to the 1300 block of Mariner Way for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive 33-year-old male inside a vehicle suffering from a single, life-threatening gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim, identified as Gaylend R. Allen-Davis, was transported to a local hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
As the investigation progressed, Champaign Police developed information to identify Miller as the suspect. In connection to the homicide, the Champaign County State’s Attorney’s Office obtained an arrest warrant for Miller for the offense of First-Degree Murder. Bond on the warrant was set at $2 million.
Following his arrest, Miller was transported to the Champaign County Correctional Center where he is awaiting future court proceedings.
