Warrant Issued in May 26, 2020, Shooting Investigation

On May 26, 2020, at approximately 7:59 p.m., Champaign Police responded to the 3200 block of Ridgewood Drive for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, a 31-year-old male with multiple life-threatening gunshot wounds was discovered in a yard outside of a private residence. Officers immediately rendered aid until emergency medical personnel arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital.

Duncan

The ensuing investigation led by Champaign Police identified Coreyon A. Duncan, a 31-year-old male from Champaign, as the suspect in the shooting. On May 28, 2020, the Champaign County State’s Attorney’s Office obtained an arrest warrant for the offenses of Attempted First Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm. Bond on the warrant was set at $2 million.

Duncan is described as a black male, 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs approximately 240 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
