Led by Officers Mike Talbott and Ashley Eisenbart, four members of Champaign Police Explorer Post 258 – Joseph Santic, Ty Alexander, Malea Misenheimer and Jacob Terven – participated in the 2019 Illinois Law Enforcement Explorer Conference held July 22-26 at Illinois Wesleyan University. The conference unites Explorer teams from across Illinois to compete in different scenarios, including hostage negotiation, felony suspect arrest, building search, and tactic emergency medical care. More than 24 agencies were represented. Champaign Explorers took second place in ‘building search’ and were among the top-rated teams in other scenarios, including ‘hostage negotiation.’
