Stark Excavating began construction on First Street between Kirby Avenue and Gregory Drive on May 16. The construction consists of the replacement of existing PCC pavement, new storm sewers, new PCC sidewalk, and new street lights. This work has an interim completion date of August 12, which is prior to the move-in date for the University. Stark Excavating has completed construction of Gregory Drive and First Street and is nearing completion on Stadium Drive and First Street. Once these intersections are complete and safe, they will be opened to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic. We will then close down the existing First Street between Gregory Drive and Stadium Drive for reconstruction. The project is on time and on budget.
