Champaign Police Lieutenant Kaitlin Fisher and METCAD System Administrator Brad Hardcastle were recognized among the state’s best through the Outstanding Young Persons of Illinois (TOYP) Awards, a program that honors individuals ages 18 to 40 who demonstrate excellence in their professions and a strong commitment to community service.
Kaitlin Fisher was honored for Personal Improvement and/or Accomplishment. Fisher serves as a Lieutenant with the Champaign Police Department and is the Southwest District Commander. In addition to her leadership in law enforcement, she plays a key role in shaping the next generation through her work co-coordinating Camp Fury, a program of the Girl Scouts of Central Illinois. The program provides young women with hands-on experiences in fire and police services, inspiring confidence and opening doors to careers in public safety.
Brad Hardcastle was recognized for Humanitarian and/or Voluntary Leadership. Hardcastle serves as a System Administrator for METCAD 9-1-1, the consolidated dispatch center for Champaign County, and as City Clerk for the City of Hoopeston. His commitment to service extends far beyond his professional roles. He volunteers as an Auxiliary Officer with the Hoopeston Police Department, is an active member of the Hoopeston Emergency Management Agency, and contributes his time and leadership to the Hoopeston Jaycees, where he has served as President, Treasurer, and Chair of the National Sweetcorn Festival.
