A Champaign man has been arrested for his role in a November 2025 homicide. Champaign Police were dispatched to the 3700 block of Colleen Drive at 6:04 p.m. on November 16, 2025, following a report of a shooting with injuries. On-scene, officers found 24-year-old Richard Frazier of Champaign with multiple life-threatening injuries. Officers immediately initiated life-saving measures with assistance from medical personnel until Frazier could be transported to an area hospital. There, he sadly succumbed to his injuries.
The initial investigation indicated that Frazier had just left his apartment when he was shot. On April 16, 2026, Champaign Police arrested 26-year-old Ketone Bryant of Champaign, with assistance from the United States Marshals Service. Bryant was located and arrested in Chicago.
Even with an arrest, this remains an ongoing investigation. Future updates may be provided as they become available.
