The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire in a vacant single-family home in the 200 block of E Washington St., Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 2:23 a.m. Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire.
Firefighters responded to a report of a fire in this two-story home. Once on the scene, fire crews found heavy fire coming from a second story window. Firefighters extinguished this fire using multiple hose lines.
The cause of this fire has not been determined as investigators remain on scene conducting their investigation. There were no firefighter injuries reported.
