Champaign Police Investigating Shooting with Injuries – 1300 Block of Honeysuckle Lane

Champaign Police were dispatched at 3:43 p.m. on February 2, 2026, to the 1300 block of Honeysuckle Lane in Champaign following a report of a shooting with injuries. Officers responding to the area quickly located a 26-year-old Champaign woman who had been driving when an unknown subject or subjects opened fire, striking her vehicle multiple times. The woman suffered a minor injury that is not believed to have been directly caused by a bullet. She was evaluated on scene by medical staff related to that injury. Following that evaluation, she was not transported to a hospital for further treatment. Those responsible for the gunfire fled the area before officers could arrive. Along with the woman’s injury and her vehicle, damage has also been located to a residence in the area.

Officers conducted a canvass of the surrounding area for witnesses and video footage that may be of investigative assistance. Any resident or business in the nearby area with exterior surveillance camera systems is encouraged to notify the police department. No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation is ongoing. Future updates may be provided as they become available.
