On September 22nd, Neighborhood Services staff Rob Kowalski and Sarah Tate attended a site visit with the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) and their Next Generation Capacity Building Initiative (Next Gen) 2025 Cohort at Bristol Senior Residences. NextGen is a cohort of 15 emerging BIPOC developers across Illinois who want to gain knowledge about developing Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) housing. The cohort visited Parker Glenn, Hope Village, and the under-construction Bristol Place Senior Residences. This visit included a lunch presentation from AHDVS, LLC’s Jim Roberts, and a discussion with Neighborhood Services Director Rob Kowalski about strategies the city leverages to support multi-family housing development and how the City typically engages with developers.
