Equity & Engagement staff proudly represented our department at several events during this year’s Welcoming Week, a national initiative celebrating inclusive communities that fully embrace immigrants and recognize their valuable contributions. This year’s celebration took place from September 12 to 21, 2025, and featured more than 20 events, including cultural performances, educational workshops, community dialogues, award ceremonies, and more.
Throughout the week, staff participated in the Welcoming Week Kick-Off Breakfast, where they connected with community and campus partners and attended the reading of the Welcoming Week Proclamation by Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen at City Council. The department also sponsored the 12th Annual Immigrant Welcome Awards and hosted the Welcoming Week Family Festival at the Downtown Plaza. These efforts reflect our department’s continued commitment to advancing equity and supporting meaningful community engagement.
