On August 10, 2024, the City was thrilled to be a part of the annual CU Days event. This event is steep in history and a crowd favorite for its resources, community focus and fun! The Equity & Engagement and Neighborhood Services Departments teamed up to make a meaningful impact by distributing back-to-school supplies and sharing valuable information about City resources. More than 200 children received items such as notebooks, water bottles, and folders to support their return to school. Additionally, Neighborhood Services collaborated with the City of Urbana to engage community members in providing feedback for the Consolidated Plan. This plan sought community feedback on where community members would spend $4 million dollars across the two cities, given options like youth programming, housing, employment, etc.
