In order to complete a series of soil borings for the City of Champaign, Engineering & Research International, Inc. (ERI) will intermittently close a lane of traffic on Neil Street between Edgebrook Drive and Washington Street. The closures will begin near the south end of the limits in the right lane and move north along the corridor.
Work is planned to begin on Monday, April 15, 2024, and continue until completion, estimated to take about 10 working days. The work is weather dependent and may be delayed in the event of inclement weather. The soil borings are part of the preliminary design effort for the implementation of recommendations within the North Neil Street Corridor Plan.
