Champaign County Community Coalition Focuses on Youth Perspectives

The Champaign County Community Coalition is focusing on local youth in this month’s meeting on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. The meeting starts at 3:30 p.m. and will be held at the Holiday Inn Conference Center (101 Trade Center Dr., Champaign). Youth representatives from Youth for Christ – Midnight Basketball, DREAAM, Urbana Park District, Don Moyer Boys and Girls Club, Unit 4 – Operation Hope, Youth Assessment Center, and Urbana Neighborhood Connections will take the stage and share their perspectives regarding youth activities, training, and programming. With summer coming up quickly, the Community Coalition is looking for new ways to keep our youth engaged and to inform community leaders about what local youth are seeking in these important areas.

Champaign County Community Coalition Facilitator Tracy Parsons stated, “Youth development is a core priority of the Coalition. We are committed to providing local youth with the necessary resources and programming that best serves them. Providing a space for youth to speak directly to leaders of youth-focused organizations and the greater Champaign-Urbana community, offers them an opportunity to share their perspectives on what they need to be successful.”

Community Coalition meetings are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will also be available. Learn more about the Community Coalition at champaigncommunitycoalition.org.
