The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire in a single-family home in the 300 block of west Tremont St., Tuesday, February 27, at 3:47 p.m. Fire crews were able to quickly get the fire under control.
Firefighters responded to a report from an occupant of a fire in this single-story home. Once on the scene, fire crews reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the residence. Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines and worked to extinguish the fire.
The cause of this fire has not been determined as investigators remain on the scene conducting their investigation. There were no firefighter or occupant injuries reported. The occupant will be displaced because of the fire.
