The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire in a single-family home in the 700 block of Southwest Dr., Monday, February 5, at 7:42 a.m. Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire that originated in the bathroom.
Firefighters responded to a report from an occupant of a possible fire in this one-story residence. Once on the scene, fire crews reported moderate smoke coming from the rear of the home and upgraded the incident to a working fire. Firefighters deployed a single hose line and kept the fire from extending outside the bathroom.
The cause of this fire has not been determined as investigators remain on the scene conducting their investigation. There were no firefighter or occupant injuries reported.
