For the safety of public visitors and City of Champaign employees, City of Champaign facilities are closing to the public for routine operations at noon today (January 22, 2024). This includes the City Building, the Champaign Public Libraries, 205 W Park Ave., and the Public Works facility. All emergency and storm response services will continue to operate. The City will analyze weather and infrastructure conditions then make decisions about whether an extension of the closure is needed for Tuesday due to ongoing safety concerns. Any additional closures will be announced via a press release.
The City encourages the public to stay home if possible. If you must travel, use extreme caution and give yourself extra time to reach your destination.
