The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire inside a home in the 1300 block of Harris Ave., Thursday, December 7 at 11:15 p.m. Fire crews were able to contain the fire to a bedroom within the home.
Firefighters responded to the report of a passerby of fire coming from the rear of a home. Once on the scene, firefighters reported moderate smoke coming from the single-story residence. Crews deployed a single hose line to keep the fire from extending outside the bedroom.
The cause of this fire is unknown as investigators remain on scene conducting their investigation. There were no firefighter or occupant injuries reported.
