The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire at 206 S First St., Tuesday, November 7th, at 8:46 p.m. Fire crews continue to work to extinguish this fire.
Firefighters responded to the report of a passerby of smoke coming from this vacant building. Once on the scene, fire crews confirmed heavy smoke was coming from the structure and quickly upgraded the incident to a working fire. Firefighters have deployed multiple hose lines and utilized elevated master streams to defensively fight this fire. Firefighters remain on scene working to bring this fire under control.
The cause of this fire has not been determined. There have been no firefighter injuries reported.
