Neighborhood Programs staff attended informational sessions this week for Unit 4 School District’s upcoming program year for Operation Hope. A meeting was held at both Centennial and Central High Schools to inform current and newly students enrolled in Operation Hope of expectations for the coming year.
Operation Hope is a college and career readiness program which assists students seeking additional opportunities and support for building post-secondary plans. Through the program, a “4-E” model is utilized – Exposure, Experience, Engagement, and Education. Operation Hope students are involved in college visits, career exploration, workshops, empowerment groups, and recreational activities. Ninety percent of students enrolled in Operation Hope graduate from high school and 75% of those students go on to attend college. Last year, approximately ten college scholarships were awarded to Operation Hope students.
