The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire inside a duplex at 403 Nathaniel Burch Dr., Friday, September 8 at 3:34 a.m. Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire in this home.
Firefighters responded to a report of a fire in this two-story duplex. Once on the scene, firefighters reported smoke and fire coming from the side of the home. Crews deployed multiple hose lines to quickly extinguish the fire primarily contained to the kitchen.
The cause of this fire is not yet known as investigators remain on the scene conducting their investigation. There were no firefighter injuries reported. The occupant was treated on scene and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The occupant will be displaced because of the fire.
