On August 31, 2023, Blueprint Partner DJ Silkee, Entertainment LLC held their performance showcase at Douglass Library. DJ Silkee hosts a “She Spins” program designed to provide an educational and creative experience for middle and high school girls. The 12-week program provides access for participants to the world of becoming a DJ through recording sessions, beat making, marketing, engaging a crowd, use of equipment and overall stage presence. The program’s focus is to assist in the prevention and intervention of interpersonal conflicts and peer violence by providing space for creativity, team building and conflict resolution. Staff from the City Manager’s Office and the Equity and Engagement Department were there to support this impactful program.
