On August 10, 2023, the Fire Department partnered with the Champaign Park District to host movie night at Fire Station 5. While Thursday Night Flix is typically hosted at Champaign parks, the fire station was the perfect setting to see Disney’s animated movie, Planes: Fire & Rescue.
In addition to the movie, families were able to explore a fire truck and interact with firefighters while learning about fire safety. Staff from the City Manager’s Office and Equity and Engagement were in attendance to help make this night successful. Champaign Firefighters Local 1260 provided the popcorn for the evening.
