The Public Works Engineering Transportation Section will change the speed limit on Rising Road between Windsor Road and the City limit north of Kirby Avenue from 55-mph to 45-mph. Over the past few years, development in the area has seen an adjacent park, walking path, and football field. The speed limit adjustment aligns with spans of both Windsor Road and Kirby Avenue between Staley Road and Rising Road already having a 45-mph speed limit and will increase safety in the area. The new signs are expected to be installed by May 15, 2023.
To effectuate the change, 45-mph signs will be installed at the beginning of the speed zone and approximately 200 feet downstream of Kirby Avenue for each direction of traffic. Speed limit signs of 55-mph will be installed at the end of the 45-mph zone for both directions of traffic.
