Join in on making a difference at one of Champaign-Urbana’s natural treasures. Help restore the beauty of the Boneyard Creek in Champaign, Urbana, and Campustown by participating in this organized cleanup on Saturday, April 22 (EARTH DAY!) starting at 9 a.m.
Volunteer registration is now open: http://www.boneyardcreek.org/
The starting point for this event will be at Scott Park, 207 E. Springfield Ave. Onsite registration will also be available on the day of the event, but pre-registration helps for planning purposes. Lunch, music, and educational displays at Scott Park will be provided following the cleanup.
Boneyard Creek Community Day is a way to celebrate and protect our lakes and streams by engaging volunteers to pitch in and clean up. Litter looks bad and leads to more litter. It clogs storm drains causing local flooding and ends up in receiving streams harming aquatic life. This event helps remind us all to be responsible citizens and put trash (and recycling) in its place.
We hope to see you there! Any questions can be directed to Leslie Heath at [email protected] or 217-403-4722.
