On January 11, the Champaign County Community Coalition hosted its first meeting of 2023. They were joined by a panel of youth leaders from DREAAM, Urbana Neighborhood Connection, and Unit 4 School District to discuss addressing the needs of youth within the community. The panel shared that some of the biggest needs that community youth have is for support from mentors and tutors.
Then Uniting Pride spoke about the needs of LGBTQ+ youth in our community and how acceptance and support for these youth can literally save their lives. Additionally, speakers that have worked within the juvenile justice system showcased community resources that can support families that are struggling.
