The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire in a detached garage at 606 S. Victor St., Friday, December 30, 2022, at 4:56 p.m. Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire in this detached garage.
Firefighters responded to a report from the occupant of a fire in the detached garage. Once on the scene, fire crews reported a fire contained to that structure. Firefighters deployed a single hose line and quickly extinguished the fire.
The cause of this fire is accidental and was attributed to a battery charging system. There were no firefighter or occupant injuries reported.
