City Facilities Closed to Public December 22 Due to Severe Winter Weather

In order to maintain employee safety and allow the City to focus on the delivery of emergency services during the forecasted winter storm, City of Champaign administrative offices will be closed to the public on Thursday, December 22, 2022. All public safety and snow removal operations will be in full operation. City staff will be available to provide customer service via phone and email during regular business hours that day. City administrative offices will also be closed Friday, December 23 and Monday, December 26 in observance of City holidays.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for December 22-23. Current forecasts call for 2 to 4-inches of snow, wind gusts up to 45 mph, and wind chills as low as 35 degrees below zero.

The City encourages the public to stay home if possible. If you must travel, use extreme caution and plan ahead. Those needing to go outside for any length of time should take extra precautions to protect themselves from frostbite.
