On November 9th, the Champaign County Community Coalition held its monthly meeting that was focused on workforce development within the community.
The University of Illinois Human Resources Office came to promote their open positions and highlight their summer internship program.
Parkland College presented about their Support for Workforce Training (SWFT) program. This program aids community members that are interested in obtaining their GED, enrolling in ESL classes, as well as promoting their education and workforce development programs. Parkland also has a Highway Construction Careers Training Program which operates as an apprenticeship around the area.
East Central Illinois Worknet assists with job matching and career development for citizens of all demographics. Unit 4 School District’s “YES” program, features career training and job shadowing opportunities for youth in the community.
