CU Days Was a Blast!

On August 13, 2022, staff from the City’s Equity and Engagement Department staffed a booth at Champaign-Urbana Days, located at Douglas Park. Community members gathered to enjoy music, activities, and food provided by local vendors. Staff were able to speak to community members about resources that the City has to offer. The booth hosted a variety of free city items, school supplies, and games!

The Neighborhood Ambassadors were also out at CU Days and joined our neighbors for food, games, and live music. CU Days is held annually at Douglas Park and this year there was a back to school theme. Organizations such as DREAAM were able to provide 600 pairs of shoes, Carle Hospital provided resources on traveling with medicine, and how to prepare for a medical emergency, and members of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority provided books for young readers. C-U Days provides a family-friendly atmosphere, supports community engagement, and promotes goodwill throughout the community. The Neighborhood Ambassador’s played an intense game of Jenga with one of our young neighbors who is also excited about going back to school.
