On April 13, 2022, the Champaign County Community Coalition hosted its monthly meeting at the Holiday Inn in Champaign. Law enforcement leadership from the City of Champaign, U of I, and the Sheriff’s Office shared updates regarding community violence, as well as community engagement and employment opportunities. Presenters shared information regarding the Youth Employment Services (YES) Program, the youth dramatic reading of Xtigone, Girls Go for It, and upcoming community engagement activities through the Coalition Race Relations Committee. Coalition membership were also invited to participate in an upcoming “Read, Talk, Play” Walk As One event on May 12 in Champaign, Urbana, and Rantoul. You can sign up to help with the event here.
