On April 6, 2022, Tracy Parsons from the Equity and Engagement Department presented an overview of the City’s Community Gun Violence Reduction Blueprint at the Neighborhood Leaders Monthly Meeting. Tracy highlighted key activities of the Community Coalition and the Community Violence Response Team in response to violent incidents, as well outlining root causes of gun violence that the Blueprint looks to address. The presentation ended with an explanation of the three major goals of the Blueprint. Twenty-one neighborhood group leaders (including 3 who have recently been appointed to the Neighborhood Services Advisory Board) and 8 additional NSD staff members were in attendance. The Neighborhood Services Department Hosts the Leaders Meeting on the first Wednesday of each month. The meeting allows neighborhood group leaders to remain abreast of City activities, programs and initiatives, and to act as force multipliers in assisting the City to share information throughout its neighborhoods.
