The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire in an apartment at 710 W. Church St., Thursday, January 20, at 12:27 p.m. Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire in this multi-family apartment building.
Firefighters responded to a report from a passerby of a fire in this two-story apartment building. Once on the scene, fire crews reported heavy fire coming from a vacant first floor apartment. Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines and quickly extinguished the fire.
The cause of this fire is undetermined as investigators remain on the scene conducting their investigation. There were no firefighter injuries reported. No other occupants of the building will be displaced as a result of the damage.
