The Champaign Fire Department responded to a working fire at 1902 Garden Hills Dr., Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at 4:22 a.m. Upon arrival on the scene, fire crews found very light smoke coming from the front door of a single-family home. Crews quickly extinguished a small fire in the kitchen using a fire extinguisher.
All occupants had exited the house by the time responders arrived. One occupant was transported to the hospital with burn injuries. Champaign Fire Department reminds residents to have working smoke detectors in all areas of the house.
